Three versions of this help are available:
- An online version here.
- An MS Help 2 version which is installed locally and requires Visual Studio 2008.
- A Microsoft Help Viewer version which is installed locally and requires Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2015 and / or Visual Studio 2017.
SpreadsheetGear 2017 also comes with IntelliSense Help for the SpreadsheetGear API which works with all supported versions of Visual Studio.

MS Help 2 Version for Visual Studio 2008
- Includes searching, filtering and indexing support.
- SpreadsheetGear 2017 Help for MS Help 2 is installed locally when you Install SpreadsheetGear 2017 for .NET.
- This help is integrated with Visual Studio's help system and can be accessed from the Visual Studio Help menu or by pressing F1 when the cursor is on a relevant term. This help is also integrated with Visual Studio's Dynamic Help.
Microsoft Help Viewer Version for Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2015 and Visual Studio 2017
- SpreadsheetGear 2017 Help for Microsoft Help Viewer is installed locally when you Install SpreadsheetGear 2017 for .NET or SpreadsheetGear 2017 for Silverlight.
- This help is integrated with the Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2015 and / or Visual Studio 2017 help systems and can be accessed from the Visual Studio Help menu by choosing Help -> View Help, or by pressing F1 when the cursor is on a relevant term.
- Note that accessing this help from the Visual Studio Help menu is only possible if you have installed and configured Visual Studio's Help to run locally in the Microsoft Help Viewer. To install help locally in Visual Studio 2010 select Help -> Manage Help Settings from the Visual Studio 2010 menu and follow the instructions for installing and configuring local help using the Help Library Manager. To configure Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013 and Visual Studio 2015 to use the Microsoft Help Viewer select Help -> Set Help Preference -> Launch in Help Viewer. To install help locally in Visual Studio 2017 a) launch 'Visual Studio Installer' and select Modify; b) in the installer choose 'Individual Components', select 'Help Viewer' under 'Code Tools'" and finish the installation; c) launch Visual Studio 2017 and select Help -> Set Help Preference -> Launch in Help Viewer.
Accessing Local Installed Help from Windows
- To access the installed SpreadsheetGear 2017 Help from Windows 10, choose Start Menu -> SpreadsheetGear 2017 -> SpreadsheetGear Help or type "spreadsheetgear help" in the Windows 10 Search Box and then choose SpreadsheetGear Help from the results.
- To access this help from Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, choose SpreadsheetGear Help from the Windows Start Screen or type "spreadsheetgear help" from the Windows Start Screen and then choose SpreadsheetGear Help from the Search panel.
- To access this help from earlier versions of Windows, choose Start -> All Programs -> SpreadsheetGear 2017 -> SpreadsheetGear for [.NET | Silverlight] -> SpreadsheetGear Help.
