SpreadsheetGear 2012
Installing SpreadsheetGear 2012

The SpreadsheetGear 2012 family of products includes SpreadsheetGear 2012 for .NET and SpreadsheetGear 2012 for Silverlight.

SpreadsheetGear 2012 installation requires administrative privileges.

SpreadsheetGear 2012 for .NET requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, .NET 3.0, .NET 3.5, .NET 4.0, .NET 4.5 or .NET 4.6. SpreadsheetGear 2012 WPF controls and multithreaded recalc require .NET 4.0, .NET 4.5 or .NET 4.6.

SpreadsheetGear 2012 for Silverlight requires Silverlight 5.

SpreadsheetGear 2012 supports x86 and x64 versions of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2003 (including R2), Windows Server 2008 (including R2) and Windows Server 2012 (including R2).

SpreadsheetGear 2012 works best with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio 2008, Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013 or Visual Studio 2015. Visual Studio is not a requirement.

SpreadsheetGear 2012 may be installed and used on computers with previous versions of SpreadsheetGear for .NET (such as SpreadsheetGear 2010). However, it is not possible to use two versions of SpreadsheetGear in a single .NET application.

For the most trouble free installation experience, please remove previously installed versions of SpreadsheetGear 2012 before installation. The SpreadsheetGear 2012 installers will attempt to update any previous installations of SpreadsheetGear 2012, but this will not always work, particularly if the previous SpreadsheetGear 2012 installation has been installed from a network drive or from the Internet.

Please close all running instances of Visual Studio while installing SpreadsheetGear 2012.

The SpreadsheetGear 2012 installers attempt to register the SpreadsheetGear Help with Visual Studio, making the SpreadsheetGear 2012 help available from the Visual Studio help system.

The installers also attempt to register the applicable WorkbookView and FormulaBar Windows Forms, WPF and Silverlight controls with Visual Studio.

The Express versions of Visual Studio do not support the APIs used by SpreadsheetGear 2012 for this registration process, so you must manually register the WorkbookView and FormulaBar controls.
